#569, in excellent condition, blond maple, with a newer black exterior, plush lined hard shell case.
Inside the case is an original A.E. Smith banjo brochure including a price list for the models being offered as of May 1, 1979. Out of 8 models listed this Shelburne II is the 6th, which makes this one of his upper models. According to the catalog, “The Arthur E. Smith Banjo Company was founded by Mark Surgies and Kathryn Spencer, two old-time banjo players experienced in the repair and building of banjos and guitars.
